Email Spam Filter
by Barracuda Networks
Datastar recently installed a new Spam filter by Barracuda Networks. The filter not only filters Spam but viruses as well, making email useful again.
The filter uses blacklist, algorithms, keywords, fingerprinting, and user specified rules for determining Spam. It gives each user the ability to customize his/her own settings. When the Spam filter quarantines the first email, the user will receive an email containing account information (email from Barracuda Spam). The user can login to the Spam filter for configuring personal preferences. When a message is quarantined the user has the ability to accept, delete, or whitelist each message (instructions below). Quarantined email is email marked as possible Spam. Quarantined email is stored in the Spam filter waiting for that users response. Users will also receive a daily email with quarantine information (email from Barracuda Spam).
